Home Improvement has a lot to do with home environment. A lot of people opt-in for a pet for that special experience. My personal opinion is that there is better pet than a dog. Having a dog around in the house can create a stress free environment and is also a favorite of children. However, more than 50% of the owners allows their dog to remain indoors and sleep on the sofa or in their bed.
This practice is not only bad for the dog, but it can also cause unnecessary health issues and might cause a problem when you do have guests over. Also, a dog needs space just like us humans. The best thing you can do is to build your dog a beautiful, robust doghouse.
Building a doghouse is a pretty simple exercise. It will give you tremendous pleasure to build your beloved dog his own home.
Follow the simple chronology given below to build your dog the finest doghouse possible.
1. Get the measurements right!
To build a doghouse you require appropriate measurements f your dog to ensure the doghouse is sufficiently big to accommodate your pet’s adult size. Humans like it when there is adequate room to maneuver around and your dog will also enjoy it. To figure out how much room your dog will need measure your dog standing straight, sitting and most importantly measure the complete dimension of the dog when he is in a state of leisure, relaxed and stretched out. Your dog should be able to see out of his house whether sitting on standing. The doghouse may seem big, but then who doesn’t like big houses!
2. Allow for ventilation.
Everyone needs some good, clean air, so is true for your beloved pet. Ensure that when you are building a doghouse, have some holes or a small window for your pet. Don’t forget, it might be a small house for you, but it’s to be a perfect house for your dog.
3. Plan for all seasons.
Make sure that the roof is slanted and the edges are at a distance. You don’t want your pet to get droplets of rain water on him as he lazes in his house. While building the doghouse, also keep a separate room like structure inside, for security. Your dog may or may not use it, buts its always better to be safe than sorry. Also, have a pillow or his favorite blanket in there.
4. Cleanliness
It’s advisable to just put hinges on the roof of the doghouse house. It makes for easier cleaning. When you build the doghouse, know that you have to make provisions for cleaning it as well; maybe provide a special place for your dog to do nature’s biddings. It is best to clean the dog’s house as typically as you give your canine a bath.
Use your vet for any advice, a doctor after all knows best.
