IT’S GOOD that city officials are becoming more creative in finding the missing owners of derelict or unkempt buildings and property and making them do what’s right by their neighborhoods.
But if creativity doesn’t work, City Hall should ramp it up and get more aggressive.
Call it protecting the public’s purse while also preventing neighborhoods from going down the tubes.

People considering hiring professional interior designers to help them undertake home improvement projects could save costs by making a series of small changes, one expert has said.
Speaking to the Baltimore Sun, president of the Maryland chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers Laura Kimball said those with less money after the recession are attempting to reduce the amount of cash they spend on redecorating their properties.

Britons are borrowing more money to carry out home improvement jobs, new research has revealed.
The study by Sainsbury’s Finance found that one in five personal loans taken out from the supermarket between January and June this year went towards home refurbishment projects.
In the first half of 2010, the total value of home improvement loans has gone up by 12 per cent and now stands at £9,225.
